Although EA rectified the FIFA 23 Coins error around 25 minutes after the release of the pack, this didn't stop the millions of coins worth of worth from disappearing out of FIFA Ultimate Team as players had to sell the FUT Hero items in a state of panic, due the massive supply.
FUT Hero cards are extremely scarce players than can be found in specific packs of Ultimate Team. FUT Hero cards are offered to players who have been instrumental in the success of clubs or have become famous including the former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung.
Due to the item's incredibly rarity, they are often highly expensive for FIFA 23 Ultimate's market for virtual transfers with some such as Yaya Toure selling on the market for 1.9 million FUT coins that a prominent third-party website selling coins values around PS400.
In the end, EA did not realize this was a problem and unintentionally released it, thus flooding the market with an overwhelming supply of the game, and saw all of the price drop dramatically with some customers losing up to one million coins in value, or around PS200 when bought through a third-party.
EA has yet to comment regarding the mistake. However, the damage to the market will be permanent. The majority, if not all players have lost value, and while the market has recovered somewhat following the removal from the pack and following shortage of FUT Hero items, the loss of buying FUT 23 Coins coins is unreversible.
