The Hu is a Mongolian heavy metal band formed in 2016. With traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the Morin khuur, and Mongolian throat singing, the band calls their style of music "hunnu rock", hu being a Mongolian root word for "human".
The HU has garnered more than nine million views on its two YouTube videos. People are listening. Western influence flooded into the country between the late 1980s and early 1990s. Well, the sound works, and it has a lot of people pumped on Mongolian heavy metal.
